In this stage, we begin truly getting to know you — your support system, your hopes for this journey, and what matters most to you. You’ll meet with our Intake Manager on a video call to walk through the risks and responsibilities of the journey, disclosures, and the agency agreement, ensuring you feel informed and never overwhelmed.
Together, we’ll shape a compensation package that reflects your needs and honors your generosity. This phase also includes a home visit with our Founder, Ashlee Hammonds, giving us a chance to connect in a meaningful, personal way.

Video Call with our Intake Manager

During this call, you’ll meet Janae, our Intake Manager, face to face so she can walk you through what to expect, answer your questions, and learn more about you and your hopes for this journey. This is a relaxed, supportive conversation where you can talk openly about your support system, preferences, and any worries or “what ifs.” Janae’s role is to make sure you feel informed, comfortable, and genuinely cared for as you take your next steps with Family Makers.
Surrogate Responsibility Disclosure

This form outlines the key expectations and responsibilities of being a Surrogate so you know exactly what the journey involves before moving forward. It’s meant to protect you, create clarity, and ensure there are no surprises along the way. By reviewing and acknowledging it, you’re confirming that you understand the commitments involved and that you feel ready, supported, and informed as you take your next steps.
Surrogate Agency Agreement

The Agency Agreement is the foundation of our partnership together. It explains how we support you, what you can expect from us, and the promises we make to you throughout your journey. Its purpose is to create transparency, trust, and a shared sense of security so you feel cared for, protected, and never alone as you step into this meaningful role.
Custom Compensation Package

Your custom compensation package is crafted around you, your needs, your family, and your life. No two Surrogates are the same, and your compensation shouldn’t be either. During your virtual home visit with Ashlee, you’ll have the chance to connect beyond the paperwork to share your story, your hopes, and what you want this experience to feel like.
Ashlee will walk you through the process with honesty, warmth, and deep respect for the role you’re stepping into. The home visit isn’t an inspection; it’s a chance to meet you in your space, understand your support system, and ensure you feel seen, valued, and supported from the very start. These moments are where the heart of your journey truly begins.
Background checks
Background checks are an important step in creating a safe, ethical, and transparent surrogacy journey for everyone involved. We complete these checks for both our surrogates and our intended parents, because your safety, comfort, and peace of mind matter just as much as theirs.
By reviewing basic criminal and identity information, we ensure that every match begins with trust, integrity, and a shared commitment to a healthy, respectful experience. This process isn’t about judgment. It’s about protection, care, and honoring the responsibility of bringing a child into the world through surrogacy.
Your wellbeing guides everything we do, and these checks help us create a foundation where you can move forward feeling secure, supported, and valued.
Next steps
After you complete these steps you'll be creating your profile, connect to our surrogate only facebook group, and meet your dedicated surrogacy case manager in Phase Three. Upon completion of these essential steps, you will advance to Phase Three. In this phase, you will finalize your profile, gain access to our exclusive Facebook group for surrogates, and be introduced to your dedicated Surrogacy Case Manager who will provide support throughout your journey and beyond.
